“VoteSwiper” for the European elections
Freiburg, Apr 17, 2019
Young voters above all like to make use of apps to help with their voting decisions in national and regional elections. Now there is an international voting tool for the European elections: from 26th April 2019 the VoteSwiper will aid Europeans in eight countries with their decision. Users answer questions in their own language about Europe and about national politics – more than 83 percent of the questions are the same in every country. In addition the users can test which party they would be closest to in other European Union countries. The online electoral tool will be available on several platforms such as smartphones, tablets, PCs and Apple TV, and is being provided to the media in EU member states free of charge. Prof. Dr. Uwe Wagschal, Department of Political Science, University of Freiburg, Rainer Gregarek, Aix-en-Provence Institute of Political Studies, France, and Matthias Bannert from the Berlin agency Movact will present VoteSwiper at a
press conference at 11 a.m. on Friday, 26th April 2019
at the Rectorate of the University of Freiburg, Fahnenbergplatz, Schlossberg Room (06 002), 6th floor, 79085 Freiburg.
The tool is based on “WahlSwiper”, which since the 2017 national elections has proven its worth in advance of several regional elections.
We would be delighted if you could attend.
