Body donations help medical students to better understand the human body

Anatomy courses serve to familiarize future doctors with the inside of the human body. In them, students use real bodies to study their structure and the functions of different parts but also anatomical variations, which often look different in the textbook. This is made possible by body donors: people who make their body available to science for education and research after their death – with the help of a bequest made to the University of Freiburg’s Institute of Anatomy and Cell Biology.
