For the Sake of the Climate
Scientists at the University of Freiburg are studying how to store the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide beneath the Earth’s surface
Freiburg, Jun 11, 2019
Everyone is talking about climate protection. School pupils demonstrate on ‘Fridays for Future’ and the European elections were declared the ‘climate elections’. Scientists are researching various ways of stopping climate change and counteracting its effects. One such scientist is Johannes Miocic, sedimentologist at the University of Freiburg, who is studying ‘CO2 storage’: a process that aims to extract the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and store it beneath the surface of the Earth.
