Tram with street art about artificial intelligence
Freiburg, May 28, 2019
Street art artists Smy and Fritz Boogie talked to robotics expert Wolfram Burgard, Professor of Autonomous Intelligent Systems at the University of Freiburg, about robotics, autonomous driving and machine learning. This exchange resulted in the work “Ansichtssache” ("A Matter of Perspective"), which now adorns a light rail vehicle on the tracks of the public transportation system Freiburg Verkehrs AG. The campaign is part of the "City Wall Research" project: For the 2019 Science Year - Artificial Intelligence, street art artists and researchers from the University of Freiburg are working together to create murals, bringing art and science to Freiburg’s city center. The science/art project Nexus Experiments at the University of Freiburg and the kulturaggregat e.V. offers the chance to learn, discuss and participate in events on the topic of artificial intelligence during the course of 2019.
