The Department of Ethnology has organized a benefit event with lectures on October 26, 2018

In 2018 earthquakes and tsunamis have affected the Indonesian islands of Lombok and Sulawesi, claiming thousands of lives. The Department of Ethnology at the University of Freiburg, for which Indonesia is an important research focus, has organized a benefit event for the people in the disaster areas in cooperation with the Indonesian Group Freiburg and surrounding area. The seismologist Dr. Wolfgang Brüstle will give a lecture on the geological causes of earthquakes and tsunamis. The students Nicole Rumert and Felix Kreklow will talk about their personal experiences in the earthquake region of Sulawesi. There will also be an auction and Indonesian finger food.
