Politics swathed in cotton

The elections of the Freiburg Municipal Council and the European Parliament are scheduled for 2019. On this occasion Café POW in cooperation with the Landeszentrale für politische Bildung Baden-Württemberg in Freiburg (LpB) is organizing the event “Politik in Watte gepackt” (“Politics swathed in cotton”). Further cooperation partners are the Department of History and the Department of Political Science the University of Freiburg. The program will offer music and word performances by local artists. In addition, the Freiburg scientists Dr. Christina Schröer from the Chair of Modern and Contemporary History of Western Europe and Anna Starkmann from the Chair of Multi-Level Governance as well as the journalist Frank Zimmermann from the Badische Zeitung will discuss the elections in panel discussions. The moderator will be Gottfried Haufe. The LpB will present the Kommunal-O-Mat and the Europawahl-O-Mat from the Federal Agency of Civic Education. Those interested can also try out the “Vote-Swiper,” newly developed by the political scientist Prof. Dr. Uwe Wagschal from the University of Freiburg.
