Podium discussion “85 years ago: Hitler in Freiburg“

On July 29, 1932 Adolf Hitler visited the city of Freiburg to hold a campaign speech. 85 years after the Hitler rally the University of Freiburg and the State Center for Political Education view it as an opportunity to ask whether history can repeat itself and what they can learn from it for present times. Following a welcoming address from the rector of the University of Freiburg, Prof. Dr. Hans-Jochen Schiewer, the following participants will discuss the topic: Dr. Heinrich Schwendemann from the Department of History at the University of Freiburg, Dr. Thomas Schnabel, director for the House of History Baden Württemberg, Christian Streich, coach for the sport club Freiburg, Dr. Dieter Salomon, mayor for the city of Freiburg and Dr. Michael Wehner from the State Center for Political Education Baden Württemberg. The non-partisan event is a part of the series "Focus on the federal elections 2017" at the University of Freiburg.
