Plants from prehistoric times
A guided tour through the Botanical Garden on relics with a great past on March 17, 2018

About 450 million years ago the first plans to over the Earth’s mainland. Throughout the course of the Earth’s middle ages, the first seed plants emerged from them. However, some of these prehistoric plant species have survived millions of years almost unchanged and give valuable insights into evolution. During a tour of the Botanical Garden with Prof. Dr. med. Hanns-Heinz Kassemeyer, visitors can admire some of these species, which are coveted ornamental plants today, while getting to know their interesting way of life.
