Forgettable Dialogues
Freiburg, Apr 25, 2017
A lot has been said and published about dementia – but those affected by it are mostly pushed to the background. This musical reading shows what dementia looks like from the perspective of the people who suffer from it. The authors Margarethe Mehring-Fuchs and Kathrin Feldhaus, Slam Poet Tobias Gralke and musicians Wolfgang Fernow, Felix Borel and Ro Kuijpers will do a lively presentation of the book „Wenn der Kopf hinausgeht, ganz weit fort“ („When your mind goes far, far away“). Dr. Sabine Hellwig, medical specialist for neurology, psychiatry and psychotherapy at the University Hospital Freiburg offers a scientific perspective and will report on the hypotheses about how the illness emerges and what possible treatments are available.
