EPICUR Forum 2022 – “Building a European University: Experiences, Successes, Transitions”

To celebrate the end of the pilot project phase of EPICUR - one of originally 41 European university alliances, which are funded by the European Commission since 2019 - the University of Freiburg is hosting staff, students, teachers and interested university members of all 9 EPICUR partner institutions to Freiburg this year. Representatives from politics and society, non-university and associated institutions of the University Alliance are also cordially invited.
Over the course of three days, the forum will offer the opportunity to exchange ideas with students, teachers and EPICUR staff from seven European countries and beyond and to talk about successes and milestones, but also challenges during the pilot phase that is coming to an end, to learn from them and to get an outlook on future projects within EPICUR.
The program
To kick off the forum, a science slam will take place on Wednesday evening, September 14, 2022, at the IMBIT/Nexus Lab, in which early-career researchers from the nine EPICUR partner universities and the Freiburg Rising Star Academy will compete with each other. On Thursday, September 15, 2022, there will be a ceremonial opening, various lectures, a keynote speech, panel discussions and a roundtable around the topics “Experiences, Successes, Transitions.” In addition to a video-welcome by Vanessa Debiais-Sainton, Head of the Higher Education Unit of the European Commission, several representatives of our associated partners and other European Universities Alliances will participate. On Friday, 16 September 2022, EPICUR internal meetings for the Steering Committee, Advisory Boards and Student Boards will take place.
The forum is open to all interested parties from the University of Freiburg and beyond after prior registration. The Board meetings on Friday, September 16, 2022, will not be open to the public.
