Dance connects people, fosters self-confidence and helps people get along while expressing themselves. The Community Dance Project “Danse Générale” helps children, adolescents and young adults work together through dance, literature and classical music. They use their body as a means of expression, interpreting myths and fairy tales like "Daphnis and Chloé" or "The Firebird". The project is being put together in cooperation with the University of Freiburg, the funding project, “kick for girls” from the step foundation for refugee children, the Wentzinger Realschule, the Showteam Matrix and the Orchestra ORSOphilharmonic. Christina Plötze, private lecturer for the Institute of Sports Science and Physical Education is the choreographer. Rector Prof. Dr. Hans-Jochen Schiewer has taken on the dance project’s patronage.
