Record temperatures, water scarcity, species extinction are some of the consequences of climate change that can be felt worldwide and preoccupy people from various sectors in society. The environmental scientist and politician Prof. Dr. Ernst Ulrich von Weizsäcker has been committed to environmental protection for many years. In his novel Die Reinsten, author Thore D. Hansen describes the possibilities and dangers of artificial intelligence for climate change and describes a civilization between awakening and collapse. At the opening of the Colloquium politicum for the winter semester 2019/2020, the two experts will address these issues in a panel discussion entitled “Climate Change - Can the World Still be Saved?
