A society of singularities

Whether it’s authentic and original personalities or unmistakable goods, events, communities and cities: That which is special rules. The norm does not. That’s the diagnosis of Prof. Dr. Andreas Reckwitz in his monograph “The Society of Singularities. On the structural change of the modern age.” He shares a strong emphasis on the extraordinary with the collaborative research center “Heroes - Heroizations - Heroisms", which invited the sociologist and cultural scientist from the European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder) to introduce his theses at the University of Freiburg.
