’68 in Freiburg: Taking a look at how it was back then
For the first time in history, the University will show a film documentary about the events around the student movement on the occasion of its 50th anniversary on June 8, 2018
Freiburg, Jun 06, 2018
The student revolts from the 1960s left their mark on daily campus life not only in Berlin, Frankfurt or Hamburg, but also in Freiburg. A documentary about the 1968-1969 events will be premiered in Freiburg. Eye witnesses who also have their say in the film or who experienced the “combustion of the senate meeting” and the controversially led “fundamental order debate” will be open for questions after the film showing. The event emerged from a research seminar held jointly during the current summer semester by historian Prof. Dr. Sylvia Paletschek, sociologist Prof. Dr. Ulrich Bröckling and the head of the media center at the University library, Dr. Franz Leithold.
