Protection against infection, especially with regard to even more contagious mutations of SARS-CoV-2, continues to be a top priority: The University of Freiburg has recently revised its hygiene regulations and adapted them to the changed legal requirements issued by the federal government and the state of Baden-Württemberg: On campus and in all University buildings, wearing a medical face mask, also known as a “surgical mask,” is now mandatory for all employees and students. Alternatively, they can also put on an FFP2 mask. This regulation is valid for the time being until March 15, 2021. The head company physician Dr. Daniel Steinmann explains what distinguishes the medical masks and how to make sure that the mouth-and-nose covering fits properly.
