Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) University Day – “De-Colonizing Partnerships”

Taking as its theme “How can global partnerships be shaped in a decolonial way in higher education?” this year’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) University Day of the Federal State of Baden-Württemberg will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on June 16that the University of Freiburg. The event is being organised by the Africa Centre for Transregional Research in cooperation with the Arnold Bergstraesser Institute. The Baden-Württemberg Minister of Science, Petra Olschowski, will give a keynote speech on the decolonialisation of partnerships in higher education. The Mayor of Freiburg, Martin Horn, will give a welcome address on behalf of the city.
The rector of the University of Freiburg, Prof. Dr. Kerstin Krieglstein, will give a lecture on the role of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the University of Freiburg. A panel discussion, flash talks, various workshops and a closing discussion will examine the theme of this year’s SDG University Day in depth,

- Prof. Dr. Daniela Kleinschmit, Vice-President for Internationalisation and Sustainability, University of Freiburg
- Prof. Dr. Rosa Lehmann, University of Heidelberg
- Dr. Déogratias Maruhukiro, Burundi Initiative of the Federal State of Baden-Württemberg, University of Freiburg
- Assunta Muthoni, Master’s degree student at the University of Stuttgart
- Sandra Ángel Moreno, Master’s degree student at the University of Freiburg
