The Science Jam on May 15, 2019 shows how words and phrases become stories
Freiburg, May 07, 2019
There are stories that make it immediately clear what they're about. And some texts seem to make no sense at all. But what is the reason: grammar, pronunciation or sentence construction? Obviously it is not enough to understand individual words and sentences in order to create meaning. But what else does it need? Cognitive scientist Prof. Dr. Evelyn Ferstl from the University of Freiburg and actor David Köhne from the Alemannische Bühne e.V. approach this question from different perspectives. The artist brings to life what the scientist is researching. An evening about wit, irony and fairytales that will also show how neuroscience investigates text comprehension.
