Freiburg in the lengthy 70s
Freiburg, Jul 09, 2019
Overalls, Wyhl protests, municipal cultural projects: The seventies were a formative time for the people of Freiburg. Starting July 18, 2019, the exhibition “Freiburg in the Lengthy 70s - Facets of a City in Transition,” prepared by master students of the Cultural Anthropology of European Societies degree program, will show a piece of city history in the Uniseum at the University of Freiburg. The Kommunales Kino, which is a cooperation partner of the project, will also show a small excerpt. In addition to interviews with contemporary witnesses, historical objects such as leaflets or posters from the city archives and the social movements archives as well as old recordings from Radio Dreyeckland will be on view and played. Visitors can take a journey through time into the alternative milieu of the city in the seventies and discover some of the familiar or completely unknown.
