Early intervention
Freiburg, Oct 09, 2018
Anxiety disorders in childhood and adolescence are widespread and cause considerable suffering for those affected. During an information evening, Eva-Maria Fassot and Dr. Julia Asbrand from the University of Freiburg research project “KibA” (“Children coping with fear”) will discuss which fears are “normal” in children and adolescents, when they need treatment and what possibilities there are to help.
In addition, the staff at the “Hochschulambulanz für Kinder, Jugendliche und Familien” (“University Outpatient Clinic for Children, Young People and Families”) now offer a weekly anxiety consultation. Together with the children and parents, they conduct an in-depth conversation, make an initial diagnostic assessment and advise on whether treatment is necessary.
