Uniseum and University Archives are opening for business

As of the beginning of June, the facilities are once again open after being closed due to the pandemic

Freiburg, Jun 01, 2021

Since November 2020, the University of Freiburg museum Uniseum and the University Archives had been closed due to the pandemic, but now they are allowed to reopen. According to the current Corona Ordinance from the State of Baden-Württemberg, the Uniseum and the University Archives can be opened without any restrictions if the 7-day incidence is below 50 for five consecutive days in the city of Freiburg.

As of June 1, 2021, interested parties will be able to view the archival records stored there in the reading room of the University Archives whose statutory retention period has expired. The prerequisite is a registration and reservation via e-mail to info@uniarchiv.uni-freiburg.de. Starting June 3, 2021, the Uniseum will also open its doors again and present six centuries of University history. Group tours as well as events in the Bursenkeller cannot take place again at this time. The hygiene concepts of both institutions stipulate that all visitors must wear a medical mask, comply with hygiene and distance regulations, and provide their contact information upon entry.
