Rector Prof. Dr. Kerstin Krieglstein will hold a welcome address for new students on October 10 in the SC Freiburg stadium

The University of Freiburg cordially invites its new students to SC Freiburg’s Europa Park on October 10 to personally welcome them to their first semester. In addition, the new students will receive a lot of information about studying and living in Freiburg.

Rector Prof. Dr. Kerstin Krieglstein will welcome the newly enrolled students on October 10 starting at 2 p.m. at the Europa-Park Stadium of the national soccer team SC Freiburg. In addition to the freshmen, the classes of 2020/21 and 2021/22 are also invited this year, whose personal welcoming ceremony had to be cancelled in previous years due to the Corona pandemic. Accompanying persons are also welcome.

“Market of Opportunities”

The Sportclub Freiburg, the student representation StuRa and the Vice-President for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Michael Schwarze will also welcome the students. Afterwards, the central institutions of the University of Freiburg will introduce themselves with information booths at a "Market of Opportunities" from about 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The student representation StuRa as well as many student communities, groups and associations will also present themselves in the stadium. Here students can find out where they can get involved and get involved. Food and drinks can be purchased in the stadium.

SC tickets raffle

As a special highlight, ticket vouchers for various SC Freiburg home games will be raffled off at the end of the welcoming ceremony. The seat number in the north bleachers will determine who is one of the lucky winners.

In addition, the ADFC Freiburg - Emmendingen - Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald will offer students a coding service for their bicycles on that day: If the bike is stolen, the police can immediately identify the owner thanks to the code. In order for the bike to be coded in front of the stadium, an I.D. and proof of purchase for the bike are required.
