Reformation Day in the University Church

“God is our hope and our strength”: With this motto an ecumenical church service will be held in the Freiburg University Church to celebrate the 500^th anniversary of the publication of Martin Luther’s 95 theses through which he introduced a lively debate about a fundamental reform of the church and theology in general. The officiants and preachers include the prefect of the University Church, Prof. Dr. Eberhard Schockenhoff from the Faculty of Theology, the former rector of the Protestant University of Applied Sciences Freiburg, and Prof. Dr. Reiner Marquard from the Faculty of Philosophy. The Freiburg Cathedral Choir under the direction of the cathedral choir director Boris Böhmann and the cathedral organist Jörg Schwab will provide the musical accompaniment during the church service.
