“Dietrich's unsuccessful courtship. The hero as a figure of classical heroic history: a strangely pre-civilized man” - this is the topic of an evening lecture given by the philologist, literary scholar, essayist and political journalist Prof. Dr. Jan Philipp Reemtsma at the University of Freiburg. Reemtsma taught from 1996 to 2007 as Professor of Modern German Literature at the University of Hamburg and is the founder of the Arno Schmidt Foundation and the Hamburg Institute for Social Research. The lecture is part of the conference “Violence and Heroism" from the Collaborative Research Center "Heroes, Heroizations, Heroism.”
